Know what?

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

I’m feeling pretty good right now. I’m sore, of course- well, not the ow ow ow sore but more the limber relaxed I love the feeling when I stretch sore. To explain, I went dancing wednesday, gym cardio thursday, Weights, Volleyball and dancing last night, and this morning I went skating again. I’m slowly but surely (well, ok, more like bowl over with freight train) getting to know this city, and though it’s different it’s still all good- I like what I’m finding here, though I know there are a lot of people out there who would call it boring. It doesn’t have the grit that Pittsburgh does, instead it has…. well, the vibe I’m getting so far is a bit difficult to describe- It’s noisy and indistinct, because at the moment I’m still surrounded by the trappings of corporate life (corp housing, office in trendy district, commute through downtown) that tend to gum things up. I got a really good read last night, but without a few more weeks of really getting a sense for the place I’m not going to try to describe it. I wonder if there’s a parade on Labor Day…

Going, going…

I feel like I should post something profound about my… 12 years in Pittsburgh. Nothing comes to mind. Well, nothing that I can easily summarize before I shut down this computer. Given that: My car is packed, my stuff’s in storage, and I’m about to shut everything down. In the next few months I have the daunting task of getting to know a new city, finding a new pace on life, building a new, local, circle of friends and resetting all those things that were forced akimbo by all this nonsense I’ve been going through.
